Example:

Example:
Machine Operators work in teams to control multiple cutting and boring machine operations to complete the customized specifications and standards requested by the customer and meet company production rate.

Applied Mathematics: Level 4 for job entry and effective performance.Example:
Using a height stand template, a visual inspection is completed and then a nelson probe measures the drill hole by using a sensing device. The Machine Operators in the 52/ 72 part area measures the etching and bore whole size and compare it to the spec sheet attached to the travel ticket or diagram

Example:

Example
Support Operators verify slit roll weight and dimension (OD) of product by using scales, gauges and tape measure.” As well, they inspect or measure finished products using tape measure, gauges, micrometers, calipers, tachometers and templates”. The support operator takes the measured results and records it into forms on the computer or paper log.

Example:

Example:
The CSR must use this skill when pulling information from booking sheet or fax transmittal to locate several pieces of information and insert into another form known as the Horizon dispatch system. Example:

Example:
The CSR might have to read an e-mail transmittal from the customer to transfer the information into the Horizon computer system to complete the details for the dispatch department. The CSR will watch the cargo status through various departments email communication throughout the shipping transit to keep customers informed of the status of Hot shipment deliveries.

2. Machine Operator job

Observation; Entry level 5 and performance level 5
Example:
The responsibility of the machine operator/mechanic is to examine parts to make sure the correct parts and equipment were provided to complete the maintenance duties of the job and to detect malfunctions, such as worn or damaged parts.

Locating Information: Entry level 4 and performance Level 5
Example:
The machine operator/ mechanic troubleshoot work related problems by systematically evaluating the trends in the process of the equipment step by step. The machine operator/mechanic refers to books that contain instructions and computer screens that contain diagrams to determine the regulation of the machines.

Teamwork: Entry level 3 and performance level 4
Example:
The machine operator/mechanic shows acceptance of team goals by working cooperatively as a member of the assembly group and to be assigned different work stations as production and maintenance needs are required. Also, machine operators will direct other employees in keeping hoppers supplied with customer furnished product and in removing and stacking finished product.

Applied Mathematics: Entry level 4 and performance level 5
Example:
The machine operator must determine in millimeters then convert it to inches and then divide to see how many picks will come out of a roll of plastic. In the mechanic role the Kalafas wrapping machine must be adjusted by using a tape measure to set the guide to position the spacing correctly so the glue distribution is set by the size of the product.

Observation: Entry level 4 and performance level 4
Example:
The pressman will learn their job by observing co-workers perform the procedures. Some of the duties include observing the pull outs from the run to match the proof that was signed off on by the supervisor. They also check to make sure the feeder is feeding the paper correctly and check the ink and water levels during production.

Locating Information: Entry level is 4 and performance level 4.
Example:
The pressman use locating information when interpreting job tickets. The job ticket contains information such as the size of paper, quantity, weight, type of paper, ink, number of colors, additional processes required for the job and layout.

Reading for Information: Entry level 4 and performance level 4
Example:
The pressman follows written directions from manuals to troubleshoot the presses. Much of the press troubleshooting and maintenance is preformed the pressmen. Also, pressmen replace the ink rollers and mix the ink by using manuals provided.

Applied Mathematics: Entry level 3 and performance level 3
Example:
The pressman uses applied mathematics when calculating how many more sheets to run in completing a job by multiplying the number of sheets per inch by the number of inches of paper to calculate the total number of sheets. Pressmen have access to a calculator and or formula sheet if needed to perform the calculations. Also, pressmen divide the number of sheets needed by the number of sheets that can be run with one pound of UV coating.

1.  Production Maintenance Technician (PMT) job

Observation: Entry level 5 and performance level 5

Example:
PMT observe at level 5 observation when they "enter commands to maintain ASRS, observe motorman robotic operation and monitors AGV's via the superfrogg computer screen of machine controller for malfunctions and error messages."  The PMT loads software instructions into machine controller or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from external media sources.

Locating Information: Entry level 5 and performance level 5

Example:
PMTs will repair electrical equipment using appropriate safety guidelines, schematics and technical manuals.  Also, the PMTs troubleshoot equipment and analyzes operational malfunctioning with technical testing devices, such as oscilloscopes, function generators, meters and calibration to locate and diagnose the nature of the defect and ascertain repairs to be made.

Applied Mathematics: Entry level 4 and performance level 5

Example:
Both groups of PMT's indicate the task of reading DADC set up sheets, work instructions and specifications to determine prescribed setup and operation of machines requires the use of Level 5 mathematics.  In support of this the PMT should have basic PLC, digital knowledge and ladder logic to be able to troubleshoot using the mathematics formulas and conversions.

Applied Technology: Entry level 5 and performance level 6 is required

Example:
This position reflects level 5 Applied technology skills on the job since (PMT) must understand the use of complex tools to maintain equipment and analyze operational malfunction when using testing devices such as oscilloscopes, function generators, meters and calibration to locate and diagnose the nature of the defect and ascertain repairs to be made.
