The Workforce Investment Act of 1998
brings together a variety of agencies to provide services to job seekers
and employers through a seamless one-stop system. The local WorkOne
system provides services in Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo
Counties. The partner consortium in Western Indiana includes:
- Department of Workforce Development
- Indiana State University
- Ivy Tech Community College
- Office of Vocational Rehabilitation
- Terre Haute Housing Authority
- Vigo County School Corporation
- Western Indiana Employment and Training
Services, Inc.
- Western Indiana Community Action Agency
These agencies and their counterparts throughout
the five county region offer an array of services and information
to employers and job seekers. Although each agency is independent,
they work together to meet the workforce development needs of our
communities. |
